UX research agency · Jakarta
Find the real problem before you build.
rekursiv. is a UX research and design studio in Jakarta. We watch real people use your app, website or service, measure where they struggle, and turn it into design decisions your team can ship.
What we research
Usability testing
Real users try real tasks on your app or website, in person or remote, moderated or not. We measure success, time and errors, not opinions.
User interviews & field research
In-depth interviews and days in the field, from Jakarta to Medan and Makassar, to understand how people actually live and decide.
UX audit
An expert review of your product against usability principles and your funnel data, with every issue ranked by severity.
Concept & A/B testing
Test ideas, prototypes and redesigns with your audience before development, so you build the version that works.
Surveys & analytics
Behaviour surveys, funnel analysis and segmentation, including customer archetypes built with machine learning.
From research to design
We don’t stop at a report. Our designers and developers turn the findings into the fixed flow, then test it again.

What does a UX research agency do?
We find out how people really use a product and where it lets them down, through usability tests, interviews, surveys and analytics, then turn that into clear design recommendations. At rekursiv. the same team can also design and build the fix.
How many participants do we need?
For usability testing, five to eight people per user group usually reveal the main problems. Surveys and segmentation need larger samples. In our studies the number has ranged from 10 participants to almost 300 survey respondents, depending on the question.
Can you test with users outside Jakarta?
Yes. We run remote sessions with people across Indonesia and have done field research in cities such as Medan and Makassar.
What do we get at the end?
Session recordings and highlights, a list of issues ranked by severity, prioritised recommendations, and, if you want, the redesigned flow tested again with users.
How much does UX research cost?
It depends on the number of user groups, participants, methods and cities. We scope it with you first and send a fixed proposal before anything starts.
